TAX SAVINGS ANALYSIS

Dear business owner,

We know- judging from our clients- that you work hard and you should be entitled to keep as much of your hard earned money to improve your lifestyle or plainly reinvest it into your business to increase profits.

Well, I have some good news for you to allow you to do that. But first, let me give you another fact:

According to research carried out in the UK , nine out of ten taxpayers in this country overpay the taxman because of errors(mostly on the part of the Revenue) or because of poor tax planning !

Tax system is not fair. The whole system works by force and threat to you: "If you don't pay your taxes on demand we will eventually take you to Court and have your assets taken from you"!

I am in no way advocating here that you should resist paying your taxes. The law is there and you cannot avoid it in the same way you cannot avoid the effect of fire or electricity if you touch it.

What I suggest is that you take ALL steps necessary to make sure that, within legal means, you don't pay a penny more than the ABSOLUTELY minimum.

THAT IS ONLY POSSIBLE IF YOU GET IT RIGHT FROM THE VERY START!

That's where TAX PLANNING comes into it. Errors made at an early stage of a business venture can be costly for years to come and, unfortunately, cannot always be reversed at no cost.

I will give you an example:

A new client has recently walked into my office saying that has bought some buy-to-let properties and was advised to form a limited company to close them in. That's an absolutely catastrophic scenario! As the client plans to sell those properties in the foreseeable future, he will face a large capital gains tax bill on sale by the company because the regime for individuals is much more generous than limited companies. If he decides to reverse that tax planning mistake by taking the flats out of the company, again there will be Capital Gains Tax to pay on the transfer! Anyway you look at it, this taxpayer is on the losing end !

Here are just a few more of the many ways to save tax the taxman wouldn't want you to know about because that would result in less money into his pocket directly fom yours:

  • Did you know that by having the right legal set-up for your business (e.g. company or sole trader or partnership) you can get away with much lower taxes on the profits generated by the business?
  • Did you know that the method you choose to take those profits out of the business into your pocket (e.g dividends or salary or rent or loans) makes a difference in how much personal tax you pay on those profits and that you may even avoid personal taxes completely by choosing the right method?
  • Did you know that choosing the right time fot the purchase and disposal of value-appreciating capital assets (e.g property or goodwill or shares) and making the right choice how to own those assets (i.e. personally or else) can save you thousands of taxes when you sell those assets or even escape taxes completely?
  • Did you know that business assets can be given away without your having to pay taxes on any gains?
  • Did you know that if you sell your business to your limited company, you may not have to pay income tax on profits you extract from the company for years, depending on the terms of the sales agreement?
  • Did you know that you could use your company as a bank to get short-tem finance that comes much much cheaper than borrowing money on the high street?
  • Did you know that you can use your company as a bank to avoid paying income tax at the higher rate of 40%?
  • Did you know that when you replace certain business assets you could postpone having to pay taxes on the gains until much later?
  • Did you know that you could give away business assets free of inheritance tax?
  • Did you know that you may not have to pay any UK taxes at all when you sell any business assets or investements abroad, depending on your UK tax status?
  • Did you know that you could spread ownership of shares in your company or make partners among members of your family in a proper way so as to make tax savings without attracting the taxman's attention ?
  • Did you know that if you work from home you could claim a percentage (based on an acceptable basis) of home running costs as business expenses to lower your taxes?
  • Did you now that if you inject capital into a business which did not take off you could claim tax relief not just for the interest but for the capital loss too?
  • Did you know that keeping company cars can be a nightmare scenario nowadays resulting in huge amounts payable to the taxman and would you be interested to know how you could minimise those by making the right alternative decisions about business travelling?
  • Did you know that you could enjoy substantial tax reliefs if you actually live in the business premises (e.g. hotels, public houses etc)?
  • Did you know of the most tax efficient ways of making gifts?
  • As all businesses will either change hands or die one day, do you know what the best time for the end will be and what to do with your business to ensure minimum (or no) taxes become due?
  • Did you know that it is very important to be receiving regular updates in plain language on tax law changes that affect your pesonal and business circumstances (e.g on a new budget) in order to take maximum advantage of those changes in terms of tax savings?
  • Did you know that, since nothing is static in this world, it is vitally important to have your business and personal circumstances frequently reviewed so that you make maximum tax savings from any changes (e.g. a marriage, a divorce, a move abroad, a significant change in the value of your estate, a new business, the disposal of a previous business, a retirement and you name it).

The list is endless and I can go on until tomorrow morning talking about tax savings opportunities that are available. I know what some of you are thinking: If only you were aware or you had the right advise when first started or when needed, maybe you could have saved thousands in taxes!

Can you see then why Tax Planning is nowadays more important and necessary than ever especially as at present taxes keep rising and in view of rapidly increasing and complicated tax legislation.

And now the good news I promised:

We have spent a lot of time and effort developing, trialling and perfecting a powerful tool which enables effective Tax Planning to be carried out. We call it
